CapCO₂, AgriEnergy, and Methylennium Energy collaborate to convert ethanol CO₂ into clean fuel
On August 20, SoDak Renewables Director Rodger Horr attended an open house and project launch in Luverne, Minnesota, hosted by CapCO₂ Solutions, AgriEnergy Innovations, and Methylennium Energy. The event marked the beginning of a new green methanol production facility that will utilize ethanol CO₂ emissions to create low-carbon fuel.
CapCO₂ CEO Dr. Jeff Bonar described the opportunity as “a goldmine” for ethanol producers in the Midwest. “I believe that today, we are starting in Luverne something that will be just as historic—ushering in a new energy era,” Bonar said. “Built not on fossil carbon, but on America’s most abundant resources: our corn, our sun, our wind, and our boundless capacity to innovate.”
