SoDak Renewables is proud to support the next generation of energy professionals through the Build Dakota “Stretch the Million” (STM) industry partner program. This fall, we had the pleasure of meeting one of our newest sponsored students: Chaxton Goldhammer, an Energy Technology student at Lake Area Technical College.

Chaxton recently attended a special luncheon at Lake Area Tech, where he had the opportunity to connect with SoDak leadership, meet other industry partners, and share his goals for the future. “Thanks so much for the support,” he said. “I’m going to work hard and get as many certifications as possible.”
About the Stretch the Million Program
The Build Dakota STM program allows industry partners like SoDak Renewables to match funds with the Build Dakota Scholarship Foundation to fully sponsor students pursuing high-demand careers in South Dakota. In return, students commit to working in the state for three years following graduation—helping strengthen the local workforce and energy economy.
Why It Matters
Energy touches every corner of South Dakota’s economy, and the demand for skilled, committed professionals has never been higher. By investing in students like Chaxton, we’re not only supporting their futures—we’re investing in a stronger, more resilient energy future for the state.
